In the morning Marianna woke up feeling tired and sad. Autumn began and that meant that she couldn't sleep until it is late anymore.
That also meant cold mornings, hot coffee, rain, lots of people in hurry on their way to work, carring the umbrella every day in the heavy bag and a long distance between her and her best friend. Or well, he wasn't her best friend anymore, or so said their friends. Since one month everybody thought they were in love, despite they denied that. Now they were separated by hundreds of kilometres. Thanks Gods, in the same country. During the summer they have been travelling around all the country. So they had the opportunity to get to know each other better because during the trip you learn almost everything about your friend. And sometimes he begins to show his bad side, as it happened with one of their happy student's crew.
Marianna considered Sasha to be her best friend until one sunny morning in the festival. Sasha seemed to be another person and nobody has seen her behaving in that way and deny something, that has been connecting them during all the life. And the same morning Marianna understood that she had only one true best friend. She called Henry and invited him to join their company. Two days later Marianna met him at the little old train station at midnight.
Two weeks had passed since that moment and suddenly Marianna understood that Henry was not simply her best friend. Those weeks were fabulous, but the summer was ending and one of the last days of August the two young people were staying at the railway station. Marianna was crying but she didn't want to explain Henry, why. She was a little bit ashamed of her feelings and didn't want to reveal them. Finally, they embraced each other for the last time. 500 km will separate them. The train departed and after crying one more hour, Marianna fell asleep and didn't wake until she arrived home, 14 hours later...
It was 7:15, so the girl had to hurry up if she didn't want to be late to work. She made a sandwich and a cup of coffee, washed, dressed and went to the bus station.
During her way to work she was observing the dark heavy clouds, full of cold rain, wet naked trees and freezing asphalt. This grotesque landscape tranquilized her a little bit as it coincided with her bad humour that morning.
A message interrupted her melancholy. It said “Tomorrow I will be in Kyiv”
