A: Everything will be fine, right Doc?
B: Only time will tell. From what we can see in the brain scans, the location of the stroke has affected her ability to speak coherently. Her thought process might be totally fine but she is still having a hard time finding the right words.
A: But she'll get better?
B: Normally I would say that since she is young and otherwise healthy, chances are high that she will improve with some speech therapy, but that new street drug - the one that triggered the stroke - well, we still don't know enough about it. Everyone reacts differently to it and so the side effects might vary as well. Did she ever talk about it? About which power she got from it?
A: Do you know for sure it was the drug that caused it?
B: It seems likely. Seeing as you are fraternal twins, it would be really helpful if we do some testing on you as well to rule out any hereditary condition that we may have overlooked.
A: ....Sorry, what?
B: I said it would be helpful if we can run some tests on you for comparison; make sure there isn't anything we missed. If it wasn't drug related, it might give us an indication if you are at risk of a stroke too.
A: I uhhh...I need to think about it. Do you mind giving me some time alone with my sister?
B: Sure. I'll get her release paperwork ready and then we can talk about a follow-up appointments. Oh! I almost forgot; your uncle is waiting out in the hall. He's taken care of the hospital bill already.
A: Uncle? We don't have-
B: Take your time in here and I'll let him know that you'll be out shortly.
....
A: Dayna, I know you can hear me. I know you can understand me. I only have one pill left so that gives us five minutes. Five minutes that I can hear your thoughts and you can tell me: What really happened to you? What kind of trouble have you been getting into? And who is the guy in the hall waiting for us, pretending to be our uncle?
