Goodbye, charming strangers by Zlata Pelykh

Dedicated to a couple in a café who are lost in the vastness of my memory.

I travelled through veils of unfamiliar shadows,

Seeking the one that danced in solitude's embrace.

Untouched and undisturbed, amidst the clamour,

To call them flesh and bones would be misplaced.

The blood still coursing through their veins,

My sight can capture cheeks adorned in blush.

The Lovers' hearts beat with an untamed refrain,

As shadows interlaced in discreet hush.

The flawless boy and tender girl:

They never thought to share the shadow.

But here, in the heart of Prague,

I witness silhouettes agreed to dance till gallow.

I may not see those charming strangers,

But memory of them remains for long.

Will save The Lovers in my soul's harbour,

Until the nightingales continue to sing their song.
