Gone With the Therapy by Liza Yavorska

After the death of her husband,

Scarlett decided to marry a handsome smuggler Rhett Battler. It was another life, which she almost forgot. She forgot about hunger and poverty. Her newborn daughter was a true angel. It seems that happiness finally came to her life. But… It was always her “but” her entire life. That cursed name. “Ashley…” How many times she pronounced this name quietly from a bottom of her heart. She knew, they would never be together. But… Maybe one day he will see her in the another way. Who knows…

Ashley was the tumour of her relationships with Rhett, always there, third person between them, her last thought before sleep was about Ashley, not about Rhett or her daughter and Rhett felt this. He became distant and started to drink a lot. It was the crisis of marriage which was about to ruin. And it seems nothing would help them.

Once at a party of his rich Northern American friends she met one girl. She only came back from Europe. She was different from any of these yanks. Furthermore, she seemed to know so much more than they did, and she always felt confident between other men. Men were always around her, not because of her beauty, but because of her brilliant mind. From Europe, she took many new ideas, especially about science. So everyone heard her with attention. How ironically that her name was also Ashley. “Ow, you will never believe what I knew, I met with the most intelligent man in my life in London, he develops an idea of associative psychology and already helped a lot of people to release from obsessive thoughts. My London’s friend Carry suffered from one-sided love, and she seems to go crazy. So what do you think? This man helped her to realize that this obsession is nothing like a childish dream about having a father just with his method of association”. Scarlett firstly was interested in her talking, release from Ashley? Forever? But this is love! Or not? At the end of the evening, she came to her and asked for a few details about this famous British. - I was actually interested at this your new science - Ow, phycology? Yes, he is truly great, do you want to read something?

- No, I mean yes, I was interested about associations.

- Sure, he gave me some of his work about this subject.

Ashley gave her a manuscript only with name on the main page “John Stuart Mill”

That day changed everything, Scarlett was finally free. After reading manuscript she was able to connect her childish dream about great adult life without war and hunger with her feeling for Ashley. She never wanted Ashley, she only wanted that war didn’t happen in her life. She felt on her place, with her man, in her family. And this way she found her truly happiness free from Ashley.
