It was a bottle of happiness on the table. Man who was lying on the floor near it had drunk happiness to the dregs.
From his childhood he suffered from unhappiness and misery. He could do nothing with this, because each time he felt satisfaction and gladness the situation resulted in catastrophe. One day he decided to stop this chain of affliction and swore to find the way out. He heard the legend about The Bottle of happiness which can be found only by a man who has nothing to lose. The legend told that this bottle is hidden in monastery in Himalayas and for reaching it you have to fly like an eagle, swim like a fish and creep like a snake.
Firstly, he bought a ticket on the plane than he found a person who helped him to cross the river, than in the village in the mountains he hired people who carried his luggage and took him to the monasteries gate. He knocked on the door and started to wait for the answer. Suddenly there appeared the monk and asked him to come in. Inside monastery he saw another monk without eyes. He asked the traveller about his aim and when he heard about The Bottle he wondered:
- Did you fly like an eagle?
- No, I didn’t. I used the plane.
- Did you cross the river like a fish?
- No. I used the boat.
- Did you clamber up here by yourself?
- No. Some aborigines helped me.
The monk smiled and ordered to bring The Bottle. After that he said:
Happiness is what we can’t have permanently and sometimes can’t even recognize. Without pain you won’t feel it. To overcome difficulties and to understand the value of life – is happiness. You’ve reached your destiny without efforts and now you are expecting to get a relief. I promise, you will get it, because you are the man who doesn’t know what he can lose. Now this Bottle is yours. Drink it and you will feel it at last.
Inside the bottle was poison, but he didn’t know it. He believed that he will get happiness and he did it. Death was his only salvation.
