What should we do?

by Olha Kolesnyk

There was a square. “What?”, - you’ll ask. And I’ll prove that there was the square. But it was not just the square. It had no corners. Can you imagine? The square without corners! But there were four lines. They had also names. It shouldn’t be surprise for you. They had names Lilly, Jessie, Nicole and Louise. It was afternoon when Jessie asked:
- Hey, girls, maybe we should have a party?
- What? Are you joking? – screamed out Lilly.
- Why not? I’m bored with all this loneliness.
- We must find guys. – denied Lilly again.
- Who cares about them? We even don’t know were they can be. They left us I suppose. – admitted Jessie.
- No, do you remember the night they lost?
- And what?
- They promised us to bring presents. If nothing happened, why don’t they give us a ring?
- You’re a perfectionist, Lilly. Corners are men. Don’t you know them? Hey, Nicole, are you up to have a party? – looked Jessie aside.
- Jess, I can’t judge you and Lilly. I’m not sure we should celebrate in a time when friends have escaped. – answered Nicole combing out hair.
- Oh, come on! Do you think they would be crying for us if we escaped as they did?
- But maybe someone had stolen corners? – whispered Lilly.
- You’re both have a kind paranoia, - said Jessie, - Look! The sun is shining; everything says us to celebrate or to have a party.
- No, we can’t. Lilly and Nicole, I back you up. I didn’t tell you before. He can hear us! – whispered Louise.
- What do you mean, Lou?
- I mean…Uhm… I know who had stolen corners. He can also steal us. So we shouldn’t celebrate anything.
- Can you tell us with details? – asked Nicole with a bit of anger in the voice.
- But, please, don’t shout on me.
- We’re listening, – promised Lilly.
- It is Mister Eraser!
- What? Mister who? – surprised Jessie.
- Yes, Mister Eraser.
- Silence. Nobody wanted to say Louise.
- Dear, who told you this gibberish? – asked Nicole.
- I saw Him, I saw his power!
- You must had been sleeping, - sniffed Jessie.
- No, believe me! He has done it! He had stolen the corners! Why don’t you believe me?
- Ehm…And what should we do?...
- But did they believe Louise? And you? Do you believe her?
