Disappointment by Kate Tolkovets

My mom wanted me to meet her colleague's son. She told me about him every weekend, when we saw each other in the downtown.
“He is a handsome young man, studied law in Oxford! Kate, I bet you will like him! Such a good family! His father has his own law firm! What a great family!”
“Mom exhibits him like a stud-horse”, – I thought. I was not willing to meet someone new. It was the consequence of a painful relationships with my ex-boyfriend. The handsome lawyer too, by the way. At last mom gave a slight sigh and didn't insist.
Two months later I came back to London from holidays in Spain, and, as it always happens after crowded vibrant festivals or parties, I felt myself lonely and abandoned. I called my mom and asked, if I could have a date with Jasper, the son of her colleague. Mom was happy to hear that her beloved daughter decided to make up her mind and arrange the private life. I swear, in her dreams mom already saw me in a lush white wedding dress getting married with Jasper.
We met on Sunday in the lovely coffee house near the Covent Garden. Jasper was even better than my mom described him. I was about to believe in a love from the first sight. He was smart, eloquent, well-dressed and undoubtedly charming. The amazing man with amazing manners. We talked about everything! Time run very fast. I hoped, that we could meet again. The faster, the better. Jasper asked a waitress to bring a bill. He quickly looked through it and immediately turned red. Forgetting about all courtesy Jasper roughly called the waitress and started to shout at her. There was a mistake in the bill. It cost him 3 pounds.
“Don't you think that you can make a fool out of me! I want to speak with the manager!”
The girl's face went pale, her voise started to tremble. I couldn't bear that meannes. I opened my purse, find a 50 pounds note, put it on the table and left the coffee house. I definetely wasn't in love with Jasper.
