Dear Alex,
Do you remember the moment when professor Kirs offered us to enter the Trinity College? I’m sure you do. He told that we had all possible advantages for it. The only problem was money, in any case, it was my first thought. But when he told that can help us with it, I realized – it is our chance. We are not lame ducks, you see? We just needed a kick! And with great opportunity and ambitions comes grate responsibility. Collect all necessary documents, reach an agreement with a head of our partment and provost of the university… Tell our mom and get permission from radical and conservative dad who is always talking about Ireland as about rotten and spoiled.
Last but not least, to tell Derek… We weren’t sure that he can understand and accept it. Yes, it is a neighboring country but… You were constantly tried to wriggle out of this. “It will be too hard”. “It will be a great mistake and disappointment”. “It is too far from home”. “What about friends? What about Derek?!”. Hesitancy, uncertainty, fear. Anyway, the decision is made and it’s time to pack things. I believe that y leaving you here I’ll leave all fears about new period of my life. Even if “It will be a great mistake and disappointment”, it will be for good. I know it for sure. That’s why I wanna tell you goodbye. Goodbye, my dear indecisive Alex.
Your second I, Alex
