The Café.by Sasha Karpinskaya

The table of three friends.
The floor is covered with old-fashioned carpets.
On the walls are hanging photos of the main events of XX century into the Soviet Union.  All photos decorated with newspapers on the corners and hanging on massive iron nails. All tables are hand-made and it could be seen by extremely detailed carving on the edge of them.  These beautiful hand-carved tables are ornately decorated with a typical country village scene, indigenous to the Carpathians Mountains. No tablecloths at all but on each table stand tiny vases with flowers: chamomile, carnation, aster and tagetes. Metal spoons and faceted glasses emphasize the idea of reflect soviet era.
Chairs upholstered on seats, with checkered pattern on it. The same designs also have bar chairs but they are a bit higher. Special attention deserves wooden bar table and lots of shelves behind it with different vintage staffs. The creator of this café tried to make them one more reflection of soviet cozy and by enabling to play or make photo with them - attractive to hipsters. A barman Ivan and a waitress Katya dressed like our grandparents: he has old velvet pants and checked shirt and she has long skirt and cute woolen sweater. Also she has old-fashioned glasses and purls on Odor of coffee intertwining with strange smell of carpets and old wood. The light from big windows spreads throughout the guest part of café. In its turn, this part filled by visitors: elderly lady with her grandson, company of friends (two girls and boy), loving couple and a family (mom, dad and their daughter). All of them talking and occasionally call the waitress, somebody to make an order, somebody to ask about ice for lemonade.
I don’t understand what they want… What is the goal of our meet? I know that Chichi loves me, but if it’s true why did he come with her friend Zoe? Maybe she is just afraid of being along with me, like a couple… Oh, that couple is so romantic. Despite the fact it’s too obviously that this girl is out of his league. Just look at him! Slouching, dim – typical couch potato. Okay, I’m staring on them too long. How can I make this meet less awkward?
“What about ice cream, girls? It is too hot today, ya?”. Why are they smiling? Do I have something in my tooth?
“Are you ready to make an order?”
Hmm, she is hottest that this day even in this awful granny’s clothes.
“Yes, three vanilla ice creams, please”. Well, what next? “Okay girls, I still has no idea why did you call me here! Why do you laughing and smiling all the time?”
“Are you really doesn’t understand? Okay, Romio, if it is so big problem for you… You know that tomorrow is gonna be the prom party, ya?”
“Yes, but what is the crux matter?” Is it that what I’m thinking about?!
“Okey, at least one thing is clear. And you also know about after-party at Michael’s house. He promised that his elder brother will help with alcohol and we know how these parties ends. So, we want to memorize this night as the craziest in our life but we don’t want to search somebody on the party for it. So…” OH, MY GOD. Calm down dude, calm down.
“Your ice cream, please.”
“Yep, thanks.”
“So, what do thing, Romio?” What do I think?? I think that it is AWESOME! It will be the best night and the best prom! God thank you!
“Well, we can try, why not.” And now smile, smile like an alpha. You’re lion, a tiger, a lucky
“Good. We glad to hear it. Have a nice day.”
“But what about ice cream?”
“Keep it for yourself. You need to cool the ardor now.”
Ha-ha, yeah…
