Heirloom by Viktoria Petruk

The main exponate of this museum was placed in the central hall
and every tourist started his route from that point. It was a crown made from gold and diamonds that belonged to a king’s family since 16-th century. It was the most expensive thing not only in the museum or in the city but in the entire region. Five sapphires shine among the diamonds. It is the colors that everybody wants to have or just to wear once – blue and white.
Early morning, museum staff is about to open the doors to a few tourists. But they are late. And policemen that just arrive are late too. The crown was stolen and no one did notice the moment when it disappeared.
“Police have no doubts that thief stole it to have money” – that was said that morning in early news. So, detectives started to watch out if it appears in someone’s collection and f someone try to sell it illegally.
But there was no good news even after three months. Nobody knows that the crown was not only king’s heirloom. There was one more family who wanted to own it not for money or status. It was a family of the master who created this masterpiece.
