The villagers of Little Hangleton still called it “the Riddle House,”
even though it had been many years since the Riddle family had lived there.
The Riddle family consisted of four members: mother Julia, father Roberto and two sons – Felix and Claus. Each of them looked like a person from the 18th century. When they moved to the old house of Little Hangleton, villagers were beware of them. The Riddle - wasn’t their real second name. Nobody knew the real. Their house wasn’t far away from other houses, but it differed significantly from them. It was huge dark building with a lot of strange plants. Also, there was a yard, where Julia liked to take care of plants. The family wasn’t closed to the outside. They were pleased to see another people, but the people were afraid.. at first. Then The Riddles seemed to the villagers almost normal family but with their quirks.
One day, the family invited all of the people to spend Halloween night with them. Everybody was unexpected to hear the invitation, but almost all them agreed to come. Children worn strange and funny Halloween costume, parents brought delicious cuisine. When people came inside the house, they were shocked to see situation inside. They saw spiderweb on the wall (they weren’t sure if it was real or not), a lot of pictures, which most of them hold mazes, old furniture. There were no lamps, just candlesticks lighted the rooms. All the details made the sinister atmosphere. Everybody felt the goosebumps.
Strange man asked people to put all the dishes on the flour and came to the center of the room. He offered to play the game. The villagers were confused, but they felt that they couldn’t refuse… It was so hard and full of riddles game, but it was so fascinating for them to play.
After playing, the main party started. People return to the hall where the Family had been waiting for them. Tables, covered with cuisines, suddenly appeared. Felix and Claus conjured huge amount sweets for children. Roberto invited everybody to the table. The villages were surprised to know that the members of the family are magicians. Roberto told people the family story: where they are from, how they can create things from nowhere and other fascinating tricks.
The evening was great. None of the guests haven't expected that the family was so nice and friendly. The villagers started to call them The Riddle family and spend all the holidays with them. Later, The Riddle family became a part of Little Hangleton history.
