Tension and Release by Mariia Zalipa

– Oh darling, my ears
are only for poetry, not for music, I told you that about thousands times, — Anna said, smiling to his beloved husband. Mark was a musician. Anna would  rather prefer the lyrics.
This time Mark was trying to persuade her she has an ear for music, because everyone has (except you are not deaf).
– You can recognize mood of your mum from one her “hello”, so you can feel the classical music as well! — Mark was quoting some professor from one old TED talks video which Anna has already watched.
– Honey, I watched it too. Actually, it was you who showed it to me. I feel neither tension nor release or whatever, — Anna was annoyed with Mark. He makes her feel stupid, but she realized she isn’t stupid, she just hasn’t an ear on music and it’s perfectly OK.
Anna opened the book blatantly, but she didn’t read at all. She was waiting for Mark’s apology. He was the one who always started provocative topics. He should say “sorry”.
Mark exhaled, turns on his favourite Chopin’s Prelude in E-Minor, took the book from her hands and said: “My dear, I’m sorry. I want you to know I’d love you even if you were absolutely deaf because it’s still would be you. Now feel it, that’s release” — last chords were playing while he kissed her passionately. Tension was gone.
