A Dialogue by Iryna Kalyta

—I don't deserve all of these things

that happened to me, don't you think so? All of us go through hard times sooner or later. And now I have such times, just need a little time,—desperately said the man, looking at his interlocutor with eyes full of hope for justification.

— I don’t think so. You deserve it, do you know why? You are right that everyone goes through hard times. But what are you doing to overcome it? I suppose that decision to keep distance from the outside world is unreasonable, —with the same eyes full of hope, but also with a touch of sarcasm the interlocutor answered.

— There is not my fault. They don’t understand me and keep saying the same things: you need to see a doctor, you should try to find a job, find a girlfriend, find yourself etc. The main thing that they are not in my shoes, get it? — the man sat and closed the face by his arms, his interlocutor immediately did the same.

—  Exactly! But you must make an attempt. Many years passed from her death, you didn’t even remember how much. Come to your senses, broo, otherwise you will lose the meaning!

— Well, I haven’t already it, —the man started sobbing and, apparently, his interlocutor was so hurt by his answer that he began to sob too.

— But you still have a chance to fix it. Okay, we can go to interview tomorrow or arrange the first therapy session, then we can go to eat junk food in MacDonald’s and at the end of the day we go to the nightclub. Sounds nice, do you feel the same passion? — the interlocutor shouted enthusiastically, but then he realized that he was too loud and was embarrassed.

During their conversation it became dark on the street and his interlocutor was about to disappear. The man had time only for one phrase, it should have been something important…

— I would like to be like you

— It's not difficult, —the interlocutor whispered, catching the last rays of the sun.
