The Whale of the Moon by Lisa Oleksiuk

The expanses of the ocean reached

far beyond the horizon of the sun. The restless and at the same time stormy feeling of blue. Without getting tired, whales swam in a flock.

A little whale was born in the moonlight of the night. The whales sang along when they saw the baby whale. The light enveloped the whale's birth, and the first thing he saw was the moon in the sky.

The moon shone, as if watching the whales, he escorted them on a long voyage. Now they have a long journey across the ocean to teach a little whale what it is like to be a whale. He learned to swim fast, went down to the depths of the ocean, looking for edible shrimp. Sometimes he was frightened by algae and sometimes by fishermen's nets. He was frightened by darkness, boat engines and sharks. But he liked that endless blue. He always wanted to explore the unknown.

The moon always pointed the way with its radiance. It was truly a whale companion in life. He was never wrong when he pointed out the way where you could eat delicious fish.

In fact, there were many shades of color in the life of the whale, it could be green algae, pink jellyfish, purple fish, red octopuses, but all this is not comparable to the color of life of the whale - blue. He felt calm. Sometimes there were currents of coolness. He was also a blue whale. The freedom to move, swinging its fins freely and jumping out to greet the moon, was all powerful in one color.

- That's how, granddaughter, I can describe you what color your grandmother's eyes are.
