The Colour of Inspiration by Anastasia Zubok

It was pouring.

The strong wind was blowing, and the sky was covered with grey clouds. There were no people outside. Sitting in the room and observing the storm felt so calm and peaceful. The grey colour. What a combination! The rebellion of nature and calmness of staying at home and watching it. Sadness and loneliness, freshness and freedom.

Being a professional writer, Casper was a really hard-working person. He could spend several hours working without having any rest. The only problem was finding the inspiration to write something worthy. Casper found it in rainy weather, fog and grey colour. Slightly, everything he owned was grey. His room was grey, he was wearing suits of the same colour. Even his favourite cat named Shade was grey.

Shade was just like his owner. Their characters had many similar traits, they had the same habits and even woke up together at the same time in the morning. They loved spending time alone. But the cat’s most favourite thing was thunder. Casper also adored the stormy weather. It reminded him of his mind struggle he had while creating something new and trying to find out whom he wanted to be.

It was stormy outside. The big floor-to-ceiling windows showed all the glory of nature. The trees were so feeble comparing to the strength of wind. The same grey colour. How powerful it was.

The next morning, Casper and Shade woke up and looked out the window again. It was foggy. The foggy morning after the storm. It was quiet as everyone was sleeping in the early Saturday morning. Finally, the writer decided to go for a walk in the fog. Everything seemed to be grey. Casper felt calm, free, and finally ready for writing his next masterpiece.
