The Inspiration by Valeria Yatskevich

“What are you doing?”
my little sister  asked standing near my table with crossed arms.
“Trying to write a dialogue,” I answered with groaning.
“Really?” she said with excitement and looked at my notebook. Then she looked at me frowning and changed her pose into arms akimbo. She said strictly: “But there is nothing written on the paper .”
“I know, I just, mm-m …”, I tried to justify myself, but I said nothing except  moaning.
“You are just what?” my sister looked at me screwing up her eyes.
“Oh, hah. I just have no inspiration”, I said sadly smiling.
“And you can`t write without inspiration?” my sister raised her eyebrows.
“Well, it is very hard to write without inspiration. It seems like every word is wrong and unsuitable. And I am just unsatisfied if I write something without it”, I  said quietly lowering my head and shrugged my shoulders. Then I cleared my throat and continued: “I just don`t believe myself if I write without inspiration. I think that I write something fake. ”
“And your heroes become unhappy?” my sister pulled her face and asked me with worry.
“Who said that heroes should be happy? ” I said sniffing and screwed up my nose. But then I had direct eye contact with my sister and understood that she was sick worried with my answer. I said carefully: “Certainly, heroes often succeed at the end, but firstly they should  prove that they deserve to find their happiness.”
“Of course, all your heroes deserve to find it, because  they are your and you are happy”, said my sister smiling.
“ You aren`t  cautiously optimistic. Moreover, I think that my writing don`t live up to your expectations”, I said shaking my head. Then I noticed stroking my chin: “There is no difference, happy hero or unhappy hero, when I have no inspiration to create him or her.”
“So you extremely need inspiration?” she asked by tragic voice.
“Yes”, I answered and nodded.
My sister made God-like pose. She looked at me with seriousness and said: “ It is hard, but I swear that I won`t do my homework until I  find your inspiration.”
I couldn`t help laughing. We were mirroring each other for a while and all that time I couldn`t stop smiling.  Finally, I said: “Thank you for your sacrifice, but I think I find my inspiration. So, come on doing your homework.”
“Are you sure? ” my sister asked blinking too much.
“Completely”, I said and grinned from ear to ear.
“Well, it is good”, my sister said sadly and went to her room to do her homework lowering her head.
