Forgiveness by Margarita Tokareva

The table is serviced by five people.
Kerin Hanester came half an hour earlier than this and still sits alone. Exactly sixth. A man with a case went to the restaurant. Kairin immediately recognized him for being too official in the face of the general atmosphere.
- Good evening! Are you Hannester? - he asked politely.
- Congratulations! Yes, my name is Kerin, - she answered.
- Kerin, therefore, you are the youngest. Nice to meet you, my name is Robert Spock, - he said and sat down at the table.
An incongruous pause in the conversation interrupted the call of his phone. Having lifted the handset, he quickly got up from the table and began to walk along the hall. After the conversation, he approached the waiter, whispered something to him and returned to the table. The waiter immediately followed him and took one set of instruments.
- So, how are you, Miss Kairin? -  he suddenly asked.
- Mm, thank you, everything is fine, -  she answered, and gave her a look away from him.
- When did you last seen? He asked again suddenly.
- Six years ago, -she answered with indifferent expressions.
- Why did it happen, do you remember?
- I already left one, and received as for four. Once it went too far. After two weeks at the hospital I did not return home.
- How did Madame Hannester respond?
- I was left alone then, - repeated Kerin, looking calmly into Robert's eyes.
Robert at the same time understood and did not understand the absence of at least some emotions on her face. It was difficult for him to be sympathetic to everyone and immediately. Sixty thirty. The phone rang again and he nervously walks around the room. This time, he just looked at the waiter as he approached again and took another device. Now the table is serviced by three.
- I knew him a bit longer than you think. So, here I am not only through formalities, he admitted.
- Well, - said Keryn, lowering her eyes.
- He wrote to you all, is it true?
- Yes, it's true. In the last half year I received seven letters. Girls, I think, no less.
- Have you opened them?
- So. That's why I'm here.
This time he picked up the handset, not rising from the table:
"Well, Miss Honester, I understand you," he said to someone, putting his phone in his pocket.
No extra devices on the table no longer. Mr. Robert puts a case on the table. Having opened it, he puts a lot of papers in front of Kerin.
- You said that the letter will be only one? Kearin asked confusedly.
- Yes, it's true, one letter," said Mr. Robert confidently, "did you read that the apartment could be taken away for debt?
- Read, - she replied.
- Probably others also read, - having paused, Robert continued, - he wrote daily, but the letter is really the last one. All the rest were burned by him.
He gets a small pale yellow envelope with the inscription "For one who can forgive". Kerin's thoughts got confused. Perhaps he could remember her favorite, did he know that she would come. Her tears flowed from her face. Having taken the envelope in his hands, she felt something else besides the paper.
- He knew that the door of the apartment would open his Kerin. In the room you will find a lot of memories, different memories, you will get answers to questions that interest you all your life. Your good heart, Kerin, take care of yourself.
