The Ephemeral Power of Love by Daria Yakunina

Five years have passed since
Celeste fell into a coma. Her parents and husband desperately tried to discern some vital reflections in her closed eyes, but she was totally withdrawn from the outward things from the moment she was put in hospital. The only thing that doctors could suggest to the hopeless family in order to alleviate girl`s suffering was mercy-killing.
Celeste was sitting on the shore of the pure emerald sea looking gently at her husband.
Martin, finally it`s time to say goodbye, - she said tenderly.
Honey, what are you talking about?
I heard the voice echoes. They will break me free very soon, - Celeste added with trembling voice.
We were so blissful here, - Martin whispered merging his voice with a sound of sea waves.
However, everything that we had was ephemeral and now it`s time to dispel this illusion. I had more than I could…more than I deserve. I haven`t lost you even in the depth of my consciousness.
You are the best thing that ever happened to me…and will ever happen, - Martin said sorrowfully kissing the girl`s hand.
I am already almost dead, but my love is immortal. Take care, - Celeste ended soundlessly.
All of a sudden the cost`s harmony was pierced by the vessel`s buzzer. It was a long monotonous squeak sounded exactly like a sound of cardiac monitor. Someone was sobbing.
