This time the world was completely white.
Marie didn't realize it right away when she woke up. She hadn't been paying attention to colours lately, and their depth and tone had begun to fade. Perhaps a week ago, she could still distinguish the aquamarine sofa from the bright yellow wall, but today everything around her had lost its colour identity.
–“Wait, where am I?” asked the “colorless” girl.
There was no answer, nor were there any other changes in the room. She realized for the first time that everything around her had completely faded. Marie couldn't remember anything either, her mind was completely blank.
However, there was one exception. A dark dialogue suddenly burst into her spotted consciousness, as if it had a non-white life of its own.
– “So…what do you think? Do you like it? You've been silent for several minutes now!”
– “Oh, of course… I think it is incredible, really..!” replied Marie.
It was another dialogue with her insecure sister, who was obsessive about everything pink, even though this colour did not suit her well. Moreover, her sister hated this colour herself, because only black clothes attracted her preferences.
–“It was just a white lie, for the good of my sister!” Marie shouted to herself.
– “As this world is for you,” a deep voice said out of nowhere. “White is the colour of emptiness, or a new beginning, an insignificant trifle, or the whole of reality.”
– “And? Why did everything around me become like this?” the girl began to cry.
– “Oh, my dear. Just open your eyes! After all, white is nothing and the entire spectrum of the rainbow at the same time. It's your choice how to look at it.”
Quite unexpectedly, Marie began to experience changes in her sight.
The world was no longer completely white.
The girl looked at herself in the mirror. To her surprise, she liked her reflection, perhaps because of the recent shock of being in the white world.
Nevertheless, there was one unsolved mystery: Marie was wearing the pink clothes she hated so much recently.
