Everyone has his own strange features.
No matter how normal and adequate the person seemed to be, he in any case has a certain point that will distinguish him from everyone else.
So it was with him. Ordinary worker in the theater, whose job it was to make effects for the scene, cleaning, installation of scenery and so on. He was the same as other workers. And he was in love with the actress, who was called Emily.
Once, during the performance, an unpleasant story happened to her. Directly on the stage, she tore a string of pearl beads, which she always wore.
The beads scattered all over the stage and the hall.
This greatly upset her. So after the performance, behind the scenes she with tears in her eyes told her friend about how she was burned by these beads, because they got to her from her grandmother and were a family heirloom.
He heard this conversation, and felt very sorry for her. Therefore, immediately after the end of the play, he rushed into the hall and tried to collect everything to a single bead. But it turned out to be a difficult task to find small pearls in such a large hall. So he managed, spending about a week. Then he threaded them on a string and made a lock. The necklace was like new.
After that, he left this necklace in her make-up room. Next to this, he put a letter:
"My dear Emily,
A week ago I accidentally heard your conversation about the fact that you were upset by the loss of the necklace. It was unbearable for me to see you so sad, so I decided to help you. I collected all the pearls with which you showered the theater hall and tried to fix the thing that burned to you. My efforts were crowned with success. I hope that this news will erase your sadness, because it does not suit you.
