Canned Food by Anastasia Sivtsova

He was cooking
her favourite soup. There was too much meat, so he decided to can a little of it.
He chopped into a potato, sliced a carrot and onion, fried them a bit. He was brilliant at cooking,
especially making canned food. Everybody said that he would be an ideal husband, though he was unsociable. No, he didn’t spend all his time completely alone; he had friends who loved and  appreciated him and his culinary talent. But he couldn’t find a life partner after his beloved one passed away.
She was older from him and suffered from tuberculosis. Her pale skin made him cry every night, her cough echoed in his head and hurt his heart. He loved her; despite she was getting worse every day. Doctors couldn’t help her, they said that situation was hopeless. However, he didn’t give up. He studied almost all books about tuberculosis in his little town. One day he finally found ancient recipe and it gave him hope.
The ingredient was available in abundance in his little town. Anyway, nobody cared about stray dogs. People were even happy not to see packs of dogs near their houses. So, he made an ointment from their fat and a soup from their meat. Her favourite soup.
But it didn’t help her. She was getting weaker and weaker. He was broken. So, he decides on cooking another ingredient that was available in his little town. Anyway, nobody cared about prostitutes. Everybody would be happy to punish them.
Water boiled and he added the potato. He had about 15 minutes to butcher a leg in his bath.
