In Details, I Trust by Lada Sorokina

We studied with Jimmy on the same course
and were friends – in one bunch of classmates. Jimmy was neither handsome at his 19, nor an A-student. He was often late, and quiet. Nevertheless, he always attracted the attention of others, including professors: he was a kind-hearted person, who was able to notice a variety of details.
I remember the day when Jimmy's life has changed.  We stood on the porch of the dormitory where we had a lesson, we discussed our previous test. There was an ordinary day, girls were going to the shop, someone was smoking before the next lesson, and Jimmy and I had a chat about everything.
“Can you imagine, I woke up earlier than the alarm clock rang today”, Jimmy said to me.
“Oh, really? And you're not even late today! Congrats”, I smiled.
“Ha-ha!” exclaimed Jimmy, “Today in the subway I saw the cutest couple. I saw two pensioners who sat together and hold their hands together. At all, I am feeling like today is a wonderful day.”
“Oh, hope so”.
I disregarded that words, we went to the next lecture, then again went down and out into the street. There was a big break, many guys gathered on the porch because it was the first warm April day, there was an impressive feeling in the air that warm days were arriving, chestnuts were flowering and long walks were to be soon. Spring is always a fantastic time of the year.
Then my thoughts were interrupted by the laughter of a neighbouring company of girls from another faculty.  Our company turned in their direction, and I saw that Jimmy's eyes widened.  He went to one of them and greeted. They embraced awkwardly and stepped aside. I saw a smile lighted up on his face, as if he had accidentally met a loved one.
Later it turned out that the girl was from his home town and, what is more, they went to the same kindergarten.  He said that he always remembered her freckles and long wavy hair.  It was amazing how they had not met from September, right away.
The next month, after each lesson, Jimmy packed his bags faster and flew down the stairs to meet her.  During the breaks, they chatted, and during the lessons, they messaged each other. I saw him, peering impatiently at the telephone, waiting for her message. He stopped being late. I saw how caring he became.  He was more interested in her life than in his own life.
I remember once they met after a study, stopped to exchange a world or two and suddenly Jimmy asked her, "What happened?”
My friend and I were a little are confused, but Jimmy continued to ask, "You cried, what happened?"
Somehow then she turned away, so as not to explain anything to us all.
The next day Jimmy told me, that she really cried.  She was very nervous about studying, burst into tears, but pulled herself together, washed her face and ran into pairs.  Until she reached, it was impossible to recognize anything by the face.  No one then noticed anything.  I asked Jimmy, how he had felt that she had cried. And he simply replied, “I just noticed, when she is crying, she has her one eye slightly narrowing”
“Jimmy, you are an amazing person,” I whispered sincerely, “Never forget this.”
Therefore, that is it. Indeed, in a relationship, much cannot be explained in words. Jimmy’s love is huge in his sensitivity and attention to details.
